In Los Angeles, a depressed scribbler named Solo has writer's ~ up after a successful first book of that he's ashamed, and he's broke, thanks to a year in classical psychoanalysis. In their definitive session, his therapist suggests that he gets a favorite, so Solo buys a scrawny terrier that adds to his problems: the dog isn't place of entertainment-trained; he owes money to a thug who's out of humor; at a dog park, he begs a woman he's conscientious met to pay the veterinarian's kiss when the dog is bitten; and his confidant Casper has introduced him to a fixed rich girl who decides that she wants the dog. He could put up to sale, settle his debts, and return to life by a clean carpet, or he could figure public why he doesn't want to duty with the dog.
